I was asked By Ryerson University to photograph the first example of what the lights on the new Image Arts building will look like.
The lights transition nicely from color to color. To reproduce the effect photographically I did a number of plates to composite into a a final.

I won into the portrait category of this year’s Applied Arts Award Annual.
Each year they do a a winners exhibit of the work, it’s great to be a part of. There was a lot of really good photo and print from some of the best photographers, illustrators and designers in the country, and considering that some of them are good friends of mine, it’s always nice to catch up and say hi.

Anyone that says working digitally isn’t an organic experience with wonderful accidents and discoveries
doesn’t know how to use the tools at their disposal well. I love working on an image and coming up with things that surprise me.

Like spilled ink on paper, you can introduce random events that really create something striking.

I’ve never actually had to do this before.
And, maybe I’m crazy but I am quite impressed with how well it came out. The image isn’t finished, but I wanted to post a quick “before and after” image comparison of the motion blur ( camera movement/shake) removal.

Oh Photoshop, my sweet, sweet lover.
Software can do a lot of things, however blur has always been difficult to fix, and though this isn’t perfect, I think it’s pretty good.
